Description
Love the piercing orange eyes and ear tufts of these beautiful owls.
Enjoy!
This is not a species which currently appears on the list of British birds but there are now estimated to be in the region of 25-30 breeding pairs in the UK. Numbers have undoubtedly been boosted by captive birds being released into the wild.
This is a male working bird. I understand he was previously badly cared for but is clearly now thriving under the love and care of his current handler. The photo was taken on a photo shoot organised by Danny Green - a top photographer, wildlife lover and all round good bloke.
