Moorland Eagle Owl by nitsch Moorland Eagle Owl by nitsch
Love the piercing orange eyes and ear tufts of these beautiful owls.

Enjoy! :)

This is not a species which currently appears on the list of British birds but there are now estimated to be in the region of 25-30 breeding pairs in the UK. Numbers have undoubtedly been boosted by captive birds being released into the wild.

This is a male working bird. I understand he was previously badly cared for but is clearly now thriving under the love and care of his current handler. The photo was taken on a photo shoot organised by Danny Green - a top photographer, wildlife lover and all round good bloke.

Yep the Owl Centre day sounds excellent. I love the shot of the Little Owl peeking out of the brickwork on Danny's website.

Love those eyes! Plus the DOF is very deceptive as i don't know if the rock is in front or behind! :)

Cheers G. There was a rock face about 20ft behind the bird. The out of focus bit at the bottom left is a bush that was in front of the bird.

How was your ruby?
