I can't resist just posting one more kite, sorry! This guy had just swooped down and grabbed a chunk of meat, you can see it in his right foot in the full res version, bit harder to see on the web. This is one of a nice sequence of 6 shots I got of him grabbing the meat and heading off, I'm going to try and think how to display the whole sequence within a single image...

Thanks! 2 quick tips which will make a big difference.

1. Practice panning - being able to smoothly follow the bird in flight is important. I used to shoot all my birds in flight handheld but I have started using a tripod. Experiment with whatever technique suits you.

2. If your camera has a continuous focusing mode (most cameras do but it has numerous different names between manufacturers) then enable it for these shots.
